PT307 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

In this unit, students deepen their understanding of orthopaedics, by using case studies as a problem based learning. Theoretical knowledge from the unit PT214 Clinical Orthopaedics is applied to practical case study situations to consolidate knowledge and skills. This application to case studies also facilitates the linkage between theory and practice by incorporating a “learning through practice” approach. They also learn skills of professional practice, including time management and other procedures involved in managing a Physiotherapy service. Teaching is through tutorials, workshops and patient demonstrations. Assessment is through theory assignments, presentations and practical assignments.
