open for the Young Pacific Leaders Regional Workshop on Media Literacy
& Journalism! ๐๐
The Regional Workshop on Media Literacy
and Journalism will bring together 30 young leaders to expand knowledge
regarding media literacy, journalism, and pressing issues facing the
Pacific region, including climate change and resilience. International
and U.S. experts in journalism, media, and climate change will work with
participants to build capacity in media literacy and journalistic
practices and advance Pacific regionalism.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Young leaders 22 - 35 years of age.
Citizen of and living in one of the following: Australia ๐ฆ๐บ, Cook Islands๐จ๐ฐ, Fiji ๐ซ๐ฏ, the Federated States of Micronesia ๐ซ๐ฒ, Kiribati ๐ฐ๐ฎ, the Marshall Islands ๐ฒ๐ญ, Nauru ๐ณ๐ท, New Zealand ๐ณ๐ฟ, Niue ๐ณ๐บ, Palau ๐ต๐ผ, Papua New Guinea ๐ต๐ฌ, Samoa ๐ผ๐ธ, Solomon Islands ๐ธ๐ง, Tonga ๐น๐ด, Tuvalu ๐น๐ป, Vanuatu ๐ป๐บ, New Caledonia ๐ณ๐จ, Wallis and Futuna ๐ผ๐ซ, French Polynesia ๐ต๐ซ, and the American affiliated Pacific, Guam ๐ฌ๐บ, American Samoa ๐ฆ๐ธ, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands ๐ฒ๐ต, and Hawaii.
Working or actively involved as a community advocate, journalist, media creator, or storyteller.
Interest in climate change impacts and resilience in the Pacific region.
Being able to fully participate in all workshop activities, including traveling to or being in Tonga on 10 - 14 September 2024, and all pre- and post-online workshop activities.
Strong communication skillsย and fluency in spoken and writtenย English.
